How to Recognize False Light

The dark posing as light was something I didn’t believe existed. Then I had a big awakening to the dark posing as angels and guides. It is not something that is often talked about in the spiritual community but unfortunately, it is very common.
There is no one who is immune to attacks by the dark, no matter how experienced they may be. Being in denial of the dark or pretending you rise above it will not protect you. The dark will do whatever it can to keep control of the planet. That means playing as dirty and as manipulative as it has to.
As lightworkers, it is important that we stay on our toes when it comes to receiving spiritual guidance and doing this work. The best defense is to learn to recognize false light, accept it is there, and not be afraid of it.
The aim of the dark is to take lightworkers into the false light matrix to take them off their path.
It is important to empower yourself and your intuition.
I’ve put together some tips for recognizing false light based on my own experiences. This is NOT an all-inclusive list. Unfortunately, there is no checklist that covers everything. But do know that with practice it becomes easier and easier to spot false light.
Common Characteristics of Connecting with False Light
- How does it feel? How you feel is the best way to tell if you are connecting with true light. False light can feel euphoric, then it will change. It isn’t a true high vibration and your body and soul know this so they give you cues.
When connecting with true light, the feeling is often deep. And that depth accompanies a knowingness, beyond all doubt, that this is true light.
Feeling that something is “off” is a red flag. Sometimes the dark’s messages sound and look good and may in fact imitate guidance of the light, but it is important to pay attention when something feels off.
Even when something is not what we want to hear, it will still feel right when it is true guidance. There won’t be an extreme high which you have to come down from. - A drop in your vibration and mood. Lower emotions that come during or after a spiritual experience can be a sign you aren’t connecting with true light. Generally feeling low, unworthy, possibly angry or overly sad often occur when interacting with the dark.
Even if you’re dealing with heavy stuff, you’ll feel like everything is going to be ok when receiving guidance from the light. There will be a feeling of comfort and peace without judgement. You may still process lower feelings such as sadness and anger, but it won’t have quite the same lowness that interacting with the dark brings. - Feeling pain in your body. The body does not lie and you can always trust it to tell you when something is wrong. A pain in your body is often the sign that you are connecting with false light. This can come on suddenly.
You may have experienced that “gut” feeling or pain when something wasn’t right at other times in your life. No matter how good something sounds, I’ll know I can’t trust it when I feel pain. Sudden tightness or sharp pain in the body is often a telltale sign.
True light, on the other hand, will leave your body feeling relaxed. - Feeling ungrounded. Feeling like you leave your body and it takes a while to come back in or ground, is not the light. Our bodies are part of the spiritual path and we are from the earth. As mentioned above, the body is a barometer for something being off. The dark attempts to take us out of ourselves in order to separate us from this knowing. It is important to especially be wary of this when doing guided meditations. At no point should you feel like you have left your body.
True light will leave you feeling more connected to your body and the earth. - Receiving Contradictory messages. For a number of months, I was connecting with a guide who was impersonating a real guide. When I realized what was happening, I’d notice this guide would change the story a lot. Guidance that changes or contradicts itself is often from the dark.
Messages from the light are simple, to the point and unwavering. The guidance will be repetitive and will come to us in different ways. There isn’t often a lot of information about the future, it is usually just about the next step. - Being told to “trust us”. This is a big one! Just like the villain on TV will tell his victim to “trust him” the dark will do the same.
I’ve never had the light ask me to “trust them”. In fact, the light knows how much interference there is from the dark and would prefer that we be cautious. The light will always get us the messages we need at the right time, in the right way. - Feeling something in your field. This can even be a feeling of something touching your field or performing “healing work”. This is a very common trait of the dark. It is something I’ve noticed many false light teachers use in meditations as well. This is something to stay far, far away from. Knowingly and unknowingly giving permission to the dark to touch any part of your energy fields or chakras is a form of attack. Once they have the ability to manipulate your energy, it is difficult to clear that out.
See this post for more of my own experiences with this.
The light doesn’t need to be in your space in order to assist you. At times, there may be activations where the light may connect with part of you but it won’t feel like the there is something physically in your space. - False light will appeal to the ego. False light tries to keep you tied into the 3D matrix. The guidance will often focus on superficial things like career, money, having the perfect home or the perfect partner. In addition, guidance from the dark will not take others or the earth into consideration.
The light is focused on your mission and asks you to trust that you will be supported on that mission. You have to be ok with not knowing how things are going to play out. - It leaves you questioning. In my experience, if I’m questioning something I received, it usually means I wasn’t connecting with the light completely.
The light may not give a lot of details, but there will be an inner knowing that the guidance is right.
Double and Triple Check Your Guidance
If you have any doubt in the experience you had or the guidance you received, write it off! Doubt can be a good barometer for gauging true experiences. When you are connecting with true light, there is no doubt.
It is important to know that the dark has become more sophisticated in posing as light.
I recently had an experience of connecting to the Lion Race (which I am apart of). It both looked and had the initial feeling of being real. I felt grounded and good in my body. There was a “light” activation that was similar to one I’d felt before. And my body was tingly.
However, at the end of the activation I got a sharp pain in my body. I ignored it at first. I spent the next few hours thinking I’d just had a magical experience. A few hours later I felt low and anxious. I stated to question it. I didn’t want to believe that with all my experience I had possibly connected with false light. But as the day progressed it became apparent that I had.
All the signs were there – pain in my body, feeling ungrounded, the guidance I received was a fantasy, and then lower emotions later.
There can be a fine line between real and false light activations and guidance. Always double and triple check your spiritual experiences over time. I’ve had experiences where even months later, I realized I had connected to false guidance. That’s also why it is important to not take some of these experiences too seriously until you know they are true light.
Learning from Connecting with False Light
Understanding when you are connecting with false light versus real light isn’t an overnight process. And as a lightworker it is unlikely the dark is going to give you a break.
Look at it as you would with anything else you learn. Driving a car means paying attention to what others do on the road and wearing your seatbelt. Being a lightworker means being aware of the dark and how they may try and stop you from being light.
I used to be paranoid about meditating and connecting with the dark. Then I started to think to myself, what could actually go wrong? Every time I have unknowingly connected with the dark, it gave me more knowledge and power. I can more easily spot their tricks.
Going through these experiences is the best way to learn. They serve as initiations and help us to grow. The more you allow yourself to see the dark’s games, the more you recognize what it is.
Let go of any fear of connecting with the dark. You are light and that in itself makes you far more powerful than anything the dark could attempt.
